I am an experienced software technical writer with an emphasis on the technical side of the equation. I can rapidly learn and assimilate new software, technologies, and concepts and then produce high-quality deliverables. I write at an appropriate level for a wide variety of audiences, such as developers, system administrators, and end users.
When I write about a software product, I do whatever it takes to fully understand all relevant aspects of the system and create documentation that meets the users’ needs. I work independently to gather this information from every possible source, such as running test builds, reviewing requirements and design documents, and interviewing subject matter experts. I am an expert in common technical writing tools such as Microsoft Word and the Adobe Technical Communication Suite (FrameMaker and RoboHelp).
In the last year, I have also ventured into a business analysis role, where I define requirements and business rules, write user stories and user acceptance criteria, help the development team size the stories in grooming meetings, and perform user acceptance testing. I discovered that my technical writing career has provided a solid foundation for this new role.
